A shopfront that holds its heat.
Smart Wall

Smart Wall is Smart Systems' thermally broken shopfront screen and entrance door system, for ground floor work where the thermal figure has to be met as well as the look. We fabricate it at Unit 7 in Marden, on the same benches as everything else we sell.

Made here, not bought in

Smart Wall screens and doors are cut, machined and built at Unit 7 in Marden. Nothing goes out to a third party and comes back late, and on a shopfront that matters, because the opening is usually already formed and the programme is already tight.

What the thermal break buys you

Every profile carries a polyamide barrier. Smart publishes 1.4 W/m2K on the screens and 1.8 W/m2K on the doors, and the system complies with Document L. Against a non-thermal shopfront that is the difference between a ground floor that meets the drawing and one that has to be argued about afterwards.

Built for buildings that get used hard

Smart aims this system at schools, colleges and other educational buildings, and the door specification reads like it. Fully rebated swing door with anti finger trap sections, a security grade 6 locking mechanism, a locking bolt that withstands 10kN of side load, a 30kg dynamic impact test and a 6kN static load test. Doors are weather rated to BS 6375 and can be supplied with a drainable low threshold.

The screens

Screen work is beaded or pocket glazed, and glazed internally or externally to suit access on site. Glazing runs 24mm to 32mm, double or triple glazed. Smart Wall is a British Standard Kitemarked system, KM 530838, and is tested to PAS 24:2012 and BS EN 1627 level 3.

Sizes

A single door leaf goes to 1150mm wide by 2500mm high on the sash, up to 80kg. Beyond that, ring the factory with the opening and we will tell you what we can build rather than guess.

Colour and finish

Standard and non-standard finishes, with dual colour available, so the shopfront can answer to the high street on the outside and to the room on the inside.
