Thirty-eight millimetres slimmer.
Visofold 6000 bi-fold

Visofold 6000 is the slim-sightline slide-folding door. At 94mm the sashes are considerably narrower than the Visofold 1000 we build most weeks, which means more glass and less aluminium across the same opening. We cut and build it at Unit 7 in Marden.

Which of the two bi-folds you want

We hold both. The honest answer is that they are not a better and a worse, they are a wider and a slimmer, and the right one depends on the opening.

Visofold 6000 has a 94mm sightline. Visofold 1000 has 132mm. Across a four leaf set that is a meaningful amount of aluminium taken out of the view, which is why 6000 is the one to ask about if the opening is the feature of the room.

The trade-off is sash size. Visofold 1000 takes sashes to 1200mm wide and 2500mm high. Visofold 6000 stops at 1000mm by 2200mm. On a tall opening, or where you want fewer and bigger leaves, the 1000 is the system that will actually do it. Both carry sashes to 100kg.

Made here, not bought in

Cut, machined and built at Unit 7 in Marden. Bi-folds are the product where that matters most, because a slide-folding door is only as good as the accuracy it was built to, and a set that binds is a set somebody has to come back to.

In or out, and where it opens

Folds internally or externally, and the sashes sit flush to the frame when they are open rather than standing proud. They hang from a floating mullion and run on a recessed bottom roller with a top guide, which is what allows the slim profile without giving up the running gear.

Thresholds

Recessed for unimpeded, level access, or rebated for better weather resistance. Recessed is what most homeowners want and what most people mean when they say they do not want to trip over it. On an exposed elevation the rebated option earns its keep, and we will say which we would fit on your opening.

One thing worth knowing

Smart publish a PAS 24 security rating for Visofold 1000. They do not publish one for Visofold 6000. That does not mean it is insecure, it carries multi-point locks on the opening sashes and shoot-bolts on the floating mullions, but if your job is specified to PAS 24 then Visofold 1000 is the one with the certificate. Ring us before you order rather than after.

Colour and finish

Dual colour is available, with colour-matched accessories, so the handles and hardware do not undo the sightline you paid for.
