Built to take triple glazing.
Visotherm
Visotherm is Smart Systems' higher performance window and door platform, built around a low lambda polyamide thermal break and sized for double or triple glazed units. We fabricate it at Unit 7 in Marden, in the same building as everything else we sell.
Made here, not bought in
Visotherm is cut on our own saw, machined on our own centre and built on our own benches at Unit 7 in Marden. No stage of your order goes out to a third party and comes back late, and if a size needs putting right, the machine that cut it is in the same room as the person fixing it.
Windows and doors off one platform
Windows run open out, top hung, side hung and fixed casement. Doors run open in or open out, single and double. Using one platform across both keeps the sightlines consistent where a door sits in a run of windows, which is usually where mixed systems give themselves away.
Where the thermal break earns its place
Smart specifies Visotherm with polyamide strips made from a low lambda material, and sizes the frames for double or triple glazed sealed units. Published U values start at 1.3 W/m2K using a 1.0 W/m2K centre panel, and the range carries a Window Energy Rating of band A.
Where it suits
New build and refurbishment, commercial and residential. It is the system to reach for when the thermal figure on the drawing is the thing that has to be met, rather than the everyday choice for a straightforward replacement job.
One thing worth knowing
Visotherm is published to PAS 24:2016 as standard, not the 2022 edition that some of our other systems carry. If the job is security rated to a specific edition, ring us before you order and we will go through it rather than let you find out on site.
Smart also publishes a separate tilt and turn technical manual for the range, and lists tilt and turn sizes to 1600mm by 2400mm. Ask us and we will confirm what we can build against your opening.
Colour and finish
Profile is made by Smart in Britain and powder coated in standard and non-standard colours, including the named ranges: Naturals, Sensations, Alchemy and Cotswold. Dual colour is available, so the outside can answer to the street and the inside to the room.
