Aliver flat rooflights
Aliver is a fixed flat rooflight with a concealed fixing system and one properly useful detail: the glazing unit lifts out and gets replaced without removing the frame from the roof. A U-value of 1.4 W/m2K using a 1.0 centre pane.
The detail worth paying for
Sealed units fail. Not often, but over twenty years it happens. On most rooflights that means lifting the frame out of the roof, which means a roofer, a scaffold and a weathering detail to make good. On Aliver the unit comes out of the frame and the frame stays where it is.
Nobody sells a rooflight on that. It is the thing you are grateful for eight years later.
Sizes
Rectangular up to 2000mm by 1000mm. Square up to 1500mm by 1500mm. Those limits are published as a guide based on a maximum glass unit thickness of 29mm, and Smart recommend the glass design limitations are confirmed with the glass supplier. On anything near the maximum we do that before quoting.
Flat, and fixed
Aliver does not open. If the room needs ventilation as well as light, it needs a different answer and we will say so. What it does give you is a clean, unobtrusive frame and a rooflight that reads as glass rather than as a box on the roof.
Standards
Smart state that rooflight glazing must comply with BS EN 1991-1-1 and CWCT TN61 to TN69. If your specification calls those up, send it over with the enquiry.
